This lovely lady approached us asking for a nice smile. An orthodontic opinion had been thought of a few years earlier, but it was suggested that extractions would be required. There was also concern with a bridge and an uncomfortable crown.
After an initial consultation Steve presented several treatment options and a multidisciplinary approach was selected using many members of our team. Initially, Steve liaised with consultant orthodontist John Scholey and the desired final outcome was defined and agreed prior to orthodontic treatment.
Upon completion of the non-extraction orthodontics, our implantologist Paul Swanson placed an implant to replace a missing tooth previously carried on the bridge, and Ian Dunn specialist periodontist covered an area of gum recession.
Enlighten tooth whitening was carried out by our hygienist Tracey Stoneley before Steve created a prototype smile with temporary crowns which were refined until our patient was happy with the cosmetic result. Finally, a highly skilled ceramicist created four new upper crowns including technically demanding pink porcelain work to produce this fantastic result and one very happy patient.
As is so often the case, we utilise the skills of so many of our team to achieve the best outcomes. In this case Steve Lomas, Paul Swanson, Ian Dunn, Tracey Stoneley and John Scholey to whom we referred the orthodontic treatment to in this instance and Mint Dental laboratory.
